Breakthrough: Microlights now also for Disc Brakes!
Until now, our Magnic Microlights were exclusively available for rim brakes using special brake pads – a system that is extremely compact, wireless, and elegant.
For bikes with disc brakes, the only option was our slightly larger Wega version, which has proven very effective with its separate generator housing, mounting arm, and spiral cable.
Since we received many requests asking whether Microlights can also be used on modern disc brake bikes, we are now even more excited to announce a real breakthrough – both literally and figuratively:
Starting today, our new version Magnic Microlights for Disc Brakes is available in our webshop – shipping from mid-August!
💡 The Trick: Two Functions – One Opening
The new solution is based on a clever modification of the plastic clamp already used in the Wega version:
The plastic screw is now hollow inside, allowing you to insert and secure an additional mounting arm for the Microlights through the same opening (using a 4 mm Allen key).

This results in:
✅ Two screws in one position
✅ No additional parts required
✅ Extremely space-saving, stable, and elegant
Especially on narrow road bikes and gravel bikes, this new Microlight mounting looks much more compact and tidy – a real step forward.
🔄 Easy Retrofitting & Bike Switching
The new mount can be ordered separately and is fully compatible with existing Microlight models.
This makes it especially convenient to switch the lights between different bikes – for example, from a city bike to a gravel or touring bike.
The holder remains installed on the respective bike, and the lamps can be re-attached within seconds – as demonstrated in our 1-Click video, which now has over 1 million views:
🆚 What about the Wega version?
The new Microlight solution is ideal for minimalist setups, but not always the best option. Our Wega version still offers clear advantages, especially for wider forks or mountain bikes:
-
Thanks to the offset mounting, the headlight sits further outwards → less obstruction by wide tires → better light output
-
The lamp is mounted below the rim → visible from both sides → especially at the rear, often only one lamp per wheel side is needed
-
Microlights near the rim are often not visible from the opposite side when viewed at an angle
Depending on the use case (daily commute, off-road, touring, etc.), the classic Wega solution may still be the better choice.
🛠️ Availability:
The new mount is now being produced in larger quantities. The first samples are available from mid-August.

Robust by Design: New Clip Technology in All Magnic Microlight & Wega Models
Since spring 2025, all our lights feature a newly developed clip connection that significantly increases their durability. Internal tests have shown that even drops from heights of up to 2 meters onto hard surfaces cause no damage.
Perfect for daily commuting, off-road adventures, and demanding long-distance rides.
The video below shows 20 lights from the new generation being dropped onto the ground – a stress test that goes far beyond the usual requirements for bicycle lighting. Even 2 meters would not be a problem, although a fall from 1 meter already presents a serious challenge for any precision-engineered system.
