Service life & quality

Our Magnic Microlights and Wega models, including the contactless generators, are designed for an exceptionally long service life. Careful selection of high-quality materials, the robust modular design and technology proven in everyday use for many years all contribute to this.

Why Magnic Light lasts so long

  • Robust design: All components are designed to withstand mechanical loads and environmental influences such as moisture and vibration – ideal for everyday bicycle use.
  • Modular design: Individual components can be replaced when necessary. This means a defect does not automatically require the complete light to be replaced.
  • Contactless technology: No mechanical contact is required between generator and rim for energy transfer. This avoids the typical friction-wheel, slipping and wear problems of conventional sidewall dynamos.
  • High-quality materials: We use corrosion-resistant materials and durable electronics designed for changing weather conditions and bicycle use.
  • Technology proven over many years: The first generation of Magnic Light came onto the market in 2013. Many lights have therefore been in use for more than ten years.

Quality you can rely on

Every Magnic Light product is tested before shipment. Our manufacturing and assembly follow defined quality checks so that function, installation and light output reliably meet the intended requirements.

For us, sustainable mobility means not only efficient technology but also durable and repair-friendly products. We therefore support our customers in the long term with spare parts, repair options and upgrade solutions.

Further-developed clip technology

Since 2025 we have used a further-developed clip connection in current Magnic Microlight and Wega models. It significantly increases the lights' resistance to impacts and falls.

In internal drop tests, the current models survived falls from up to 2 m height onto hard ground without damage. This load is well above what normally occurs in everyday cycling.

In the following video, we drop 20 lights of the new generation from a height of about one metre onto hard ground. The test clearly demonstrates the robustness of the new clip connection.

Built to last, not to be disposable

Our goal is bicycle lighting that stays on the bike for as long as possible. If a component is damaged after many years, the entire product should not have to be replaced. That is why we combine robust construction, modular design and long-term repair options.
